Culture has a new home - the Kulturraffinerie K714

Over 100 years ago, the most modern lubricating oil refinery in Europe was built on the banks of the Rhine in Monheim with the participation of Shell, which was gaining a foothold in Germany at the time. The innovative design inside today's industrial monument and the many stories experienced by numerous generations make the site an extraordinary location for culture and encounters, right on the banks of the Rhine.

Following the extensive restoration of the existing building and the new construction of a multifunctional, acoustically sophisticated event space with a capacity of 500 to almost 5,000 people, further new buildings to the south and north will create a building ensemble with additional conference rooms, a restaurant with an additional rooftop bar and a small hall in the originally preserved barrel filling hall.

From autumn 2026, the Kulturraffinerie K714 at Rhine kilometer 714 will be opened to the public and celebrated with a grand opening.
