"The Joni Project" brings to the stage the immortal music of an artist who not only shaped the genre of singer-songwriting, but single-handedly redefined it. Three exceptional musicians - Anne de Wolff, Stefanie Hempel and Iris Romen - have come together to celebrate the work of Canadian icon Joni Mitchell in all its depth. This evening is far more than a classic tribute concert: it is a passionate tribute to a woman who influenced generations with her musical brilliance. Be it the wistful melancholy of "River", the philosophical expanse of "Both Sides Now" or the anthem of an entire era, "Woodstock", the trio approaches this legacy with impressive virtuosity.

Joni Mitchell, the nine-time Grammy award winner and painter of sounds, has always been known for her unconventional guitar tunings and her ability to make the most private things sound universal. "The Joni Project" picks up on this thread. With a diverse, finely tuned range of instruments and crystal-clear harmony vocals, the three artists manage the feat of staying very close to the original and yet transporting the songs into the here and now. The magic of the story unfolds between the songs. The audience learns the beautiful, sad and often surprisingly funny stories behind the legendary compositions. It is a journey through a life full of artistic freedom and emotional power.
