At the foot of Tepozteco, a sacred mountain that watches over the winds and fertility, lies the small town of Tepoztlán. Against this backdrop, 15-year-old Karla undergoes a profound transformation of body and mind. As Karla masters her transformation, Kani brings together eight years of footage to create a light-hearted film in which they share the experiences of a trans youth in the countryside. NIÑXS [ninjes] celebrated its world premiere at the renowned documentary film Visions du réels 2025 and its German premiere at DOK Leipzig.
