Hong Kong, 1962: Newspaper editor Chow Mo-Wan and secretary Su Li-Zhen move into a cramped rented house on the same day. When they become friends and discover that their spouses are having an affair, they themselves become lovers who meet in secret out of revenge, loneliness and hesitation. But the fragile relationship cannot last long, feelings of guilt prevail.
