Girls' and women's choir of the Schola Cantorum Leipzig
Conductor: Bernhard Steiner
Piano: Aya Kugele
Uplifted voices - elevated, sublime voices - await the audience at this concert. The Ensemble Reine Frauensache and the girls' and women's choir of the Schola Cantorum Leipzig present a cross-section of the work of female composers whose works for women's voices play an important role in the women's choir movement. Starting in the Romantic period with Emilie Zumsteeg, one of the first female composers to lead a women's choir, the program ranges from early 20th century choral works from the Anglo-American region to contemporary compositions. The audience is invited to rediscover these largely unknown works and forgotten female composers. Marleen Hoffmann from the Frau und Musik archive will lead the evening with all kinds of interesting facts about the composers and their pieces.
In cooperation with Edition Peters.
