In the organizer's words:
Chorwerk Ruhr
Conductor: Florian Helgath
They are many. They are impressive. They are strong: they are all women who have contributed to the history of music and whose pieces Chorwerk Ruhr brings together with their usual excellence in the concert program "She". Caroline Shaw takes center stage with her "Partita for 8 Voices". The US composer found inspiration for this in Sol LeWitt's painting "Wall Drawing 305", which creates a new whole from 100 randomly placed dots in front of the viewer's eye. And just as the dots grow into lines and shapes, international female composers from the past and present are grouped around Caroline Shaw. Their lifelines enter into sonorous relationships through their works and open up new references and horizons in the ears of all listeners.
Program:
