The joint concert evening of the Landesjugendchor Baden-Württemberg and the SWR Vokalensemble is emblematic of the chor.com motto: Building Bridges. Here, an experienced top ensemble sets the stage for excellent young talent - and both take the audience into the diverse world of old and new a cappella music. The program spans an arc from the 16th century to the present day. The SWR Vokalensemble sings Olivier Messiaen's "Cinq Rechants", a breathtakingly virtuosic and expressive choral work for twelve solo voices, full of imagination and creative ideas - the big bang of modern a cappella music. The two choirs will then perform Olivier Messiaen's "O sacrum convivium" together. Afterwards, the Landesjugendchor Baden-Württemberg will take the audience on a musical journey through the epochs of Polish choral music - from historical pieces to contemporary soundscapes, in Polish, English and Latin.
