In this chor.com concert, the unique Rundfunk-Jugendchor Wernigerode presents the nine award-winning choral arrangements from the "Traum und Sehnsucht" edition, which emerged from the international arrangement competition of the German Choral Association on the choral-musical culture of remembrance. The choir brings Hebrew and German song traditions from the "German-Jewish Songbook" of 1912 into a touching dialog and shows how contemporary composers build bridges between history and the present - a resounding plea for lively German-Jewish culture and shared remembrance. The works are complemented by choral repertoire that the young people themselves have suggested as appropriate.
