Carl und Veronika – Orff und die Comedian Harmonists
In the organizer's words:
The Singphoniker
How did the arrangements of the Comedian Harmonists influence the compositions of Carl Orff? The Singphoniker invite the audience at chor.com to discover the exciting connection between the world-famous musicians. During his lifetime, Orff repeatedly affirmed that he was a great fan of the Comedian Harmon ists. And when their songs are juxtaposed with scenes from Orff's "Carmina Burana" or the fairytale pieces "Der Mond" and "Die Kluge", it becomes clear what a formative influence the ensemble had on Orff's compositions between 1934 and 1942. This can be experienced directly in the Singphoniker 's program: Here, Orff works stand alongside songs by the Comedian Harmonists such as "Wochenend' und Sonnenschein" or "Maskenball im Gänsestall". The concert will also feature short moderations to shed light on the historical context.
