Bach im Dialog – Rethinking the Well-Tempered Clavier

In the organizer's words:

Calmus Ensemble
Piano: Natalya Pasichnyk

"The Well-Tempered Clavier" as it has never been heard before: in dialog with
Johann Sebastian Bach's chorales, arias and cantatas. The Swedish-Ukrainian
Ukrainian pianist Natalya Pasichnyk forges links between Johann Sebastian Bach's vocal works and his purely instrumental "Well-Tempered Clavier" and creates a coherent story from 48 pieces. Together with Pasichnyk, the Calmus Ensemble from Leipzig now unfolds these interpretations in sound: the musicians combine the "Well-Tempered Clavier" with texts and thus create a new work of art. Voice and piano enter into a dialog, language and sound interweave to create a spiritual narrative - a reflection on human existence and Bach's idea of music as a path to the renewal of the spirit.
