Out on Screen - Eine Queere Filmreihe

In the organizer's words:

The film series “Out on Screen—Queer, Self-Assured Cinema” focuses on cinematic portrayals of self-empowerment and autonomy among queer people and will take place from July 2 to July 8 at the Luru Kino. From coming-out stories to political movements, the seven films span the period from the 1970s to the present day and offer international perspectives on the realities of queer life.

At the same time, the program is an invitation to reflect together on queer film history and engage in conversation about it—accompanied by post-screening discussions, talks, and performances. The event series is organized by master’s students in a cultural studies seminar. In doing so, they are venturing into a new format for acquiring practical skills and engaging in cultural mediation.
