In 1970, Freddie Mercury (Rami Malek) and his band members Brian May (Gwilym Lee), Roger Taylor (Ben Hardy) and John Deacon (Joseph Mazzello) found the band Queen. The four men quickly celebrate their first successes and soon produce hit after hit, but behind the band's façade things look far less good: Freddie Mercury, whose real name is Farrokh Bulsara and who comes from what is now Tanzania, struggles with his inner turmoil and tries to come to terms with his homosexuality. Mercury finally leaves Queen to start a solo career, but soon realizes that he is at a loss without his comrades-in-arms. Although he is now suffering from AIDS, he manages to get his band members together once again and puts on one of the most legendary performances in music history at Live Aid...
