Oatumn - Dead Years - Sunveil
In the organizer's words:
Oatumn
It’s somewhere between melancholy and dancing. Between lost in thought and switching off in a dimly lit club. Silent exchanged glances and the question of whether you’ll cross paths again. The result combines the energy of Siouxsie Sioux with the longing of Robert Smith, mixed with a pinch of dreaminess à la Cocteau Twins set to the melodies of Lush. The lyrics about fears, worries, and (failed) relationships are accompanied by plenty of reverb and driving synth sounds. “Dancing with tears in my eyes,” so to speak. Recommended tracks: “Rush,” “Lionpaw,” and “Alibi.” Works best with a fog machine and neon lights.
Dead Years
The ’80s called and want their post-punk back! But they’re not getting it. Instead, Dead Years infuses it with new energy, putting a smile on our faces and making our feet tap despite all the gloom. Music for fog machines, broken disco balls, and broken hearts.
Sunveil
Shoegaze / Dream Pop / Emo
Between dreamy haze and massive walls of guitar—Sunveil creates a sound that both embraces and stirs the soul. The result is a blend of ’90s shoegaze with modern dream pop and a dash of emo melancholy. Distorted, effects-laden guitars, driving bass, and ethereal vocals form a dense, emotional soundscape where pain and beauty converge.
Following their debut EP in early 2024, Sunveil has now released their first full-length album: “Shape Shifter.”
The band enjoys touring the DIY scene with acts like Desire Line, Between Bodies, and Scott Evil, including shows at AK40 in Suhl, Emokeller in Essen, K19 in Berlin, and B-Side in Münster.
FFO: Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Turnstile.
