On a hot afternoon in a vineyard, four friends pass the time wondering what it would be like to experience life on a trial basis before actually living it. In response, they invent the “Rehearsal Room for Life” and can now dream up actual or possible life paths. When our own imagination runs dry, we invent, keep dreaming, embellish, or appropriate the experiences of others. Closely linked to the question of a possible future is our engagement with a present shaped by the past: How on earth did we end up in this situation?

Following the great success of *Herkunft*, we once again turn our attention to the storyteller Saša Stanišić. The production is directed by Demjan Duran, who, in recent productions at the Theater Osnabrück, has explored the stories of Yugoslav officers in Barrack 35.
