Who would we be without the bold ideas of the generations that came before us? As Rainer Maria Rilke taught us: “Everyone recreates the world with their birth, for everyone is the world.” Ideas are constantly being reborn, sustained by the enduring energy of existing wisdom. KAPmodern celebrates the 100th birthdays of pioneering composers and focuses on works that embody innovation, experimentation, and a radical expansion of listening—impulses that continue to resonate to this day. Today’s interpretations are reflected in the moment in the light of time, resonating in the present with the past and the future. Once again, KAPmodern welcomes the two conceptual artists Merlin Rainer and Maxim M. Chubarov, who—following “Metamorphoses” in 2023—are once more visually expanding the soundscape.
