Jazz + Beats: We don´t suck we blow + DJ UFA Palava

It becomes abundantly clear after just a few bars on “Chimneys” —their third studio album—that the Hamburg-based band “We don’t suck, we blow!” has developed a distinctive, tongue-in-cheek understatement over the course of a decade. Elements of jazz-rock, fusion, metal, cool jazz, exotica, hip-hop, trip-hop, and lounge pop seamlessly blend together in the space of a few moments.

One could add plenty of additional stylistic terms, but anything definable is quickly reduced to absurdity by the band itself after just a few moments. Yet this isn’t about jarring breaks, but rather a sense of togetherness rooted in mutual listening and acceptance of the bigger picture. In doing so, the sextet succeeds in demonstrating the highest degree of collective identity (Text: Wolf Kampmann).

In addition to concerts by renowned artists, the Kunstklinik invites guests to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere—complete with trendy drinks and rotating DJs. The event series, featuring select concerts, is sponsored by the Hamburg Nord District Office.
