Jazz + Beats: Arjay + DJ Schwofdrossel

The Hamburg-based band Arjay blends British jazz with jungle, UK garage, and drum ’n’ bass, creating a sound that’s perfect for both the dance floor and close listening.

The band was founded by saxophonist and producer Will Rees-Jones after he moved from the UK to Hamburg. In 2025, they caused a stir with their atmospheric EP “Vol. 1” and charted a new course with a radical change in style: Get ready for a stunning horn section, fast-paced rhythms, and infectious grooves—the new material will be performed live for the first time at this show.

The evening will be accompanied by downtempo beats from DJ Schwofdrossel: Dance yourself happy—the thrush is dancing. Slow down the beats per minute and let’s dance!

The “Jazz & Beats” event series is bringing jazz back to Eppendorf in 2026. In addition to concerts by renowned artists, the Kunstklinik invites you to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere—complete with trendy drinks and rotating DJs.
