Offline Hangout mit "Chocolat" // Special Edition
In the organizer's words:
Just Unwind — A Creative Offline Movie Night with a Sweet Surprise and a Film That Will Enchant You
Presented by The Offline Club Cologne / Powered by the Cologne Chocolate Museum / Supported by ArtNight
Turn off your phone. Live in the moment.
Just be unreachable for a few hours. Instead of scrolling, there’s time for creativity, enjoyment, connections, and watching a movie together. In the true spirit of the Offline Club, we want to create an evening where the moment takes center stage. It doesn’t take much to make for a special summer evening: good company, a creative break, and a movie as tempting as chocolate.
An Offline Hangout at an open-air movie theater? Here’s what to expect!
When you arrive, we ask that you switch your cell phone to offline mode.
That evening, the cinema’s stairs will become the Offline Club Zone—featuring a reading nook, a creative area for drawing together, a writing corner with journaling prompts, and a connection area with conversation cards and icebreakers.
On top of that, the Chocolate Museum will treat you to little chocolate goodies and sweeten the evening with delightful moments of indulgence. If you’d like, bring some yarn and knitting needles to join our open-to-all knitting cinema. Together with The Offline Club, the Chocolate Museum, and ArtNight, the open-air cinema will become a relaxed gathering spot under the stars.

Movie Synopsis: Chocolat
As everyone knows, chocolate makes you happy. Add a pinch of chili according to an ancient Native American secret recipe, and it becomes downright irresistible. Vianne Rocher (Juliette Binoche) is a master of this art. One day, a gentle breeze carries her and her daughter Anouk to a small provincial town in France. In no time at all, she captivates the palates of the staid residents with the delicacies from her newly opened chocolaterie. The women come alive again and let the mysterious Vianne tempt them into a more independent life. When the stranger falls in love with a wandering musician (Johnny Depp), the strict mayor has had enough…
Swedish director Lasse Hallström tells a cinematic fairy tale with modern themes: tolerance, sensuality, indulgence, and a zest for life define the enchanting atmosphere of this romantic comedy, which was brought to life by cinematographer Roger Pratt with wonderfully poetic echoes of the old masters of French cinema.

Information about the ArtNight workshop
Before “Chocolat” hits the big screen around 9 p.m., you’ll get creative yourself. In keeping with the film’s theme, we’ll be painting our popular ArtNight motif, “Abstract Structure,” outdoors!
Sensual, intuitive, and full of imagination: Just as Vianne in*Chocolat*senses people’s desires and transforms them into sweet works of art, you’ll create your very own abstract art. Using a palette knife, texturing elements, and bold acrylic paints, you’ll intuitively experiment with colors, shapes, and textures—without a template—guided by Laura on-site.
