Café with a history.
When looking for a name, we searched for the history of Cologne-Mülheim. We came across the name Jakubowski. Rudi Jakubowski was born in 1928 in the building of our café. For a long time, the building remained a war ruin until it was renovated in 2000 with respect for its past. In 2006 - when the café opened - Rudi Jakubowski and his wife Waltraud gladly agreed to the naming. The Jakubowskis became close friends of the team and remained our loyal guests.
Silvia Beuchert has run the café with great passion and enthusiasm since it opened. After many successful years, she will hand over the baton to Jens Deselaers in January 2021.
CaféKultur in Cologne-Mülheim.
We are Cologne locals - in the center of Alt-Mülheim on the right bank of the Rhine. The Rhine flows a hundred meters from the café, the promenade invites you to take a stroll and the Mülheimer Mäuerchen invites you to linger. We cultivate good neighborly relations: the Mülheim Night, initiated by Silvia Beuchert in 2010, in which many of our neighbors get involved and show what we in Cologne-Mülheim can do culturally, has become a crowd-puller for thousands of Cologne residents and guests from the region. We love our neighborhood.
The team
We at Café jakubowski are diverse personalities who are closely linked to the development of the café. We enjoy working together and have a lot of fun - for our guests. Our core team is professional, has known each other for a long time and values good work.
