The man with the red trombone continues the JazzHall concert series to celebrate his 70th birthday—and this time, he’s bringing some funk with him. For over 30 years, Nils Landgren’s Funk Unit has enjoyed a legendary reputation; now, the Swedish musician is bringing his high-energy band to the JazzHall stage for the first time for two concerts. The Funk Unit blends soul, rhythm & blues, and jazz like hardly any other group in Europe. The meaning of their motto, “Music knows no borders, music is freedom,” must be experienced live.
