Landesjugendjazzorchester Hamburg: New York – Rio – Hamburg. John Coltrane meets Emiliano Sampaio
In the organizer's words:
On September 23, 2026, John Coltrane would have turned 100. The Hamburg State Youth Jazz Orchestra (LJJO) is paying musical tribute to the jazz legend—it’s following in Coltrane’s footsteps from New York to Rio and has invited Brazilian trombonist, guitarist, and composer Emiliano Sampaio to join them. As a very special gift, the program includes the world premiere of a tribute to Coltrane that Sampaio wrote especially for this evening. Good vibes only! Admission to the JazzHall is through the main entrance of the University of Music and Theater at Milchstraße 12—not via Harvestehuder Weg.
Doors open: 6:30 p.m. | Show starts: 7:30 p.m.
