múm are considered one of Iceland's most innovative bands. Known for their unique combination of electronic beats, soft vocals, organic instruments and atmospheric sound collages, múm have set standards worldwide with their albums, collaborations (including with Kylie Minogue, Kronos Quartet and Jóhann Jóhannsson) and film music. After a twelve-year studio break, they are now back with a sound that oscillates between electronic innovation, introspective pop music and chamber music depth - sometimes tender and melancholic, sometimes rhythmic and experimental.

On their new album History of Silence, múm address central themes of their work: separation, transience and the experience of distance - both spatial and personal. The album was created in an international process, with recordings in Reykjavík, Berlin, Prague, Athens, Helsinki, southern Italy and New York.

The band, originally founded by Gunnar Örn Tynes, Örvar Smárason and the twin sisters Kristín Anna and Gyða Valtýsdóttir, has reinvented itself time and again over the years. For History of Silence, they are working with an expanded line-up, including singer Sigurlaug Gísladóttir (Mr. Silla) and Finnish drummer and composer Samuli Kosminen. Multi-instrumentalist Gyða Valtýsdóttir and guitarist Róberta Andersen enrich the band's live performances. In the special acoustics of the Christianskirche, múm will create an evening full of magical soundscapes.
