In the organizer's words:

The altonale Filmwerkstatt is opening its doors for the first time this year. On two evenings, we will be talking directly to filmmakers from Altona and showing their latest documentaries as a kind of preview.

Dirk Manthey has been active as a producer of fictional and documentary international films since 2000.

Rasmus Gerlach has meanwhile gained a reputation in Hamburg as a "city documentarist". His documentaries always impress with their clear attitude and empathy towards people.

LOKI SCHMIDT - FLOWERS OF LIFE

She was called the "first Green" and yet was a true social democrat: Hannelore Schmidt, who called herself LOKI. The film portrays Loki Schmidt using original documents: Film interviews with contemporary witnesses, audio recordings and photographs of her life's journey, which took her all the way to Antarctica to explore the plant life there. Her life's journey took her from Hamburg's "Kleine Leute Quartier" to the Bonn Republic. She was driven by a hunger for knowledge and a great love of all living things. The filmmaker also filmed with Loki Schmidt herself for the "Flower of the Year" and interviewed 103-year-old documentary filmmaker Georg Stefan Troller, who made his last film about Loki Schmidt.
