For 20 years, Katrine (Juliane Köhler) has led a seemingly happy life with her family in Norway. But after the fall of the Berlin Wall, her world is turned upside down: Katrine is not the woman she claims to be. She was once sent to Norway under a false identity as a Stasi agent and has built her entire life on a lie.

When a German lawyer begins to investigate her past, her carefully guarded secret threatens to come to light. As Katrine desperately tries to protect her family and her new life, she becomes entangled ever more deeply in a web of lies. “Two Lives” is a gripping and emotional drama about identity, guilt, and the consequences of German history, in which the roles of perpetrator and victim are powerfully interwoven.
