What do these images tell us today? Who is speaking and who has not been heard for a long time? Together we will pursue these questions and explore how artists, academics and local actors from Peru reinterpret Brüning's collection. Afro-Peruvian and queer readings, artistic interventions and digital appropriations make visible how history comes to life. The tour provides insights into processes of cultural reappropriation and shows how a colonial archive can be transformed into a space for dialog, participation and new connections across generations and geographical borders.
