The Young Artist Atelier is a four-day summer program that invites young artists ages 13 to 17 to immerse themselves in the world of painting. Under the professional guidance of Sahra Becherer and Alexander Tadlock, you’ll discover the versatility of acrylic painting and develop both technical confidence and expressive freedom. In the focused studio atmosphere, you’ll discover the balance between technical precision and the courage to experiment. The fundamentals taught here lay the foundation for your individual artistic development and foster self-confidence and a joy in creativity.
Join us and experience a creative week at the Tadlock Academy in Frankfurt’s Bockenheim district!
The workshop will be held in German (English available upon request)
August 3–6, Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. each day
4 hours per day (including a 30-minute lunch break) — 3.5 effective class hours daily, for a total of 14 hours.
What to Expect
You’ll learn to see the world through the eyes of an artist, perceive nuances, and translate your inner vision into a powerful, tangible form. In the focused studio atmosphere, you’ll discover the balance between technical precision and the courage to experiment. The goal is to gain technical confidence so you can express your own unique visual language with clarity and freedom.
- ✓ Day 1: Introduction to the studio, color theory exercises in acrylic, and exploring famous masterpieces
- ✓ Day 2: Reproductions of masterpieces in acrylic and insights into art history and the background of the works
- ✓ Day 3: Further studies focusing on light, color, and brushwork
- ✓ Day 4: Creating your own painting inspired by the masters and presenting it in a small studio showcase
By the end of the workshop, each participant will have created their own painting, gained confidence in creative expression, and learned the basics of art history.

About Sahra Becherer
Sahra Becherer(born in 1996 in the Waldviertel region of Lower Austria) studied classical drawing and oil painting at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy, where she subsequently served as a Graduate in Residence and taught. She was a finalist in the 14th ARC Salon and participated in the ModPortrait Exhibition in Barcelona and Zaragoza. After several years of teaching at the Academy of Fine Art Germany (Bad Homburg), she has been working as a freelance artist and course instructor in Austria since 2025. Her focus is on figurative oil painting in the tradition of the Old Masters, with a contemporary twist.
