Rising

In the organizer's words:

The six female voices of Lyyra from the USA present an impressive sound spectrum and repertoire - from William Byrd's Renaissance music to special soul and pop arrangements by Stevie Wonder, Billie Eilish and Laura Mvula. The "Rising" program combines works from different centuries, styles and cultures - from the Renaissance to the present day. Old and new worlds of sound, sacred and secular themes enter into dialog and show how music can build bridges across time, genre and language. The pieces deal with community, hope, freedom and compassion and thus reflect how choral music connects people - emotionally, culturally and humanly.

With the kind support of the Dieter Fuchs Foundation.
