Let Him Kiss Me – Vertonungen aus dem Hohelied Salomos
In the organizer's words:
Vocalforum Graz
Conductor: Franz M. Herzog
Accordion: Stefan Heckel
Jewish synagogue singing: Aron Saltiel
The "Shir Ha-Shirim", also known as the "Song of Songs" or "Song of Solomon", is one of the most special texts in the Bible. It is a lyrical drama whose speakers and episodes come together as if in a dream and imaginatively describe the erotic longing and heavenly bliss of two lovers. In this concert with the Vocalforum Graz, various settings of these fascinating biblical love songs will be heard. Compositions from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods are juxtaposed with contemporary works. Traditional Jewish chants and recitative passages lend the texts a very special color. In addition, accordion interludes connect the program sections.
With the kind support of the Dieter Fuchs Foundation.
