After 15 years, Angela (Olivia Wilde) and Joe’s (Seth Rogen) marriage doesn’t just seem to have run its course—it’s on the verge of collapse. But the invitation to the neighbors has already been extended. So Pina (Penélope Cruz) and Hawk (Edward Norton) from across the hall drop by for dinner. When Angela and Joe happen to run into them in the elevator, the two seem rather cool and distant, but oh well... But when Pina and Hawk show up, there’s not much trace of that left. Instead of engaging in meaningless small talk and a light meal, the neighbors soon make overt advances toward Angela and Joe—because they’re apparently polyamorous and quite open to more than just intimate togetherness. The question is, however, whether Angela and Joe—given their stagnant marriage—should go along with it, or whether the whole situation is actually a bit more complicated than that...
