Santino is a circus kid. His great-grandfather is one of Germany’s last great circus directors and tells him stories about his ancestors: about his friendship with an elephant, about goodbyes, new beginnings, and his first steps as a clown in the ring. ZIRKUSKIND tells the story of growing up with an extended family and animals, of the fascination of the circus, and of those who have been bringing art and entertainment to the ring for generations. A documentary road movie for children and their families about the life of a circus family, balancing realism and magic.
