What does increasing heat mean for our neighborhood? Who is particularly affected? And how can we as a neighborhood be there for each other when it gets hot?
June 11 is nationwide Heat Protection Day and summer is just around the corner. The right time to think together: How can we prepare for the next heatwave?
In the workshop, we will look at what increasing heat means for Berlin, why heat can be dangerous and how we are affected by it in our immediate surroundings. Above all, however, we want to learn what we can do in our neighborhoods to protect each other: What does joint prevention and preparedness mean? What tools are already available? How can we look after each other when the heat comes?
As a practical tool, Leonie Reuter (Katastrophenforschungsstelle Berlin) will present a heat protection plan for neighborhoods - to adapt and try out. Lou Rosenkranz (Nachbarschaftsprogramm GemeinsamKiez) will moderate the session and provide methods for transferring the knowledge gained to your neighborhoods. You will take home concrete ideas for the summer and can get started straight away.
Spontaneous guests are welcome. However, we ask you to register so that we can plan better.
