Elbe hike with an expert: nature, views & secrets from the hidden world

Experience one of the most beautiful hiking routes along the Elbe! From the idyllic Blankeneser Treppenviertel, our tour leads directly to the banks of the Elbe and on through the impressive Wittenbergener Heide - a unique landscape shaped by the Ice Age. Spectacular views, natural paths and real moments of discovery await you on around 7 kilometers.

Feel the sand under your feet, enjoy the special atmosphere by the water and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the Elbe. Along the way, you will learn exciting facts about rare ecosystems, the history of the landscape and the visible traces of human use along the river.

The hike will be accompanied by Caro Menzel, a doctoral student at the Institute of Applied Plant Ecology at the University of Hamburg. As an expert in vegetation and ecological relationships, she will impart fascinating knowledge directly on site - in an understandable, lively way and with enthusiasm for nature. With a bit of luck, she will reveal something about a largely hidden friendship from her field of research: the mysterious symbiosis between fungi and plants.
