Wafaa Saied

Berlin-based singer Wafaa Saied (* 2000, Gaza) performs live with her band, interweaving traditional songs with personal and collective narratives. The concert combines music and oral histories to represent forms of cultural resilience.

Drawing on stories from her family and community, Saied blends autobiographical narratives with Palestinian songs and folklore. In her work, the musician not only preserves and revitalizes narrative traditions that carry our collective memory. She also creates space for narratives that are often underrepresented or reduced to headlines. For her, music and storytelling are both acts of preservation and a form of resistance against erasure and silence. In response to the emotional distance created by the constant repetition of images of extreme violence, Saied promotes closeness, empathy and attention. In doing so, she shares lived experiences and Palestinian narratives beyond statistics and media representation.

This concert takes place as a double bill with a concert by Nour Sokhon. We recommend purchasing a combined ticket for both concerts.
