VIOLENT VIRA
In the organizer's words:
Violent Vira’s music stems from her own traumatic experiences and relatable emotions, as well as her extraordinary empathy for the world around her. This sensitivity manifests itself at both extremes—from beguiling melodies to cathartic screams—which, combined with heavy riffs, paint a musical picture that straddles alternative metal, metalcore, and hard rock. Following their first sold-out headline tours and appearances at major festivals such as Aftershock, RIOT Fest, SICK NEW WORLD, and Welcome To Rockville—as well as a European tour as the opening act for Kim Dracula—Violent Vira will return to Europe in the fall of 2026. In Germany, she will perform live at Berlin’s Cassiopeia and Cologne’s Luxor alongside her bandmates Anthony Brown (guitar) and Matt Bolling (guitar).
Amy Gonzalezgrew up in a trailer park in Boise, Idaho, in modest circumstances as the child of a Mexican family. Shaped by her family’s frugal lifestyle, she found refuge in art and in the music of artists like RBD, Selena, and Michael Jackson, as well as bands like Evanescence, Linkin Park, and Three Days Grace, who inspired her deeply from an early age. With the goal of becoming a singer, she competed on *American Idol*, *America’s Got Talent*, and *Tengo Talento*, and regularly performed on the street with a ukulele. Even after finishing school, music remained a central part of her life as she supported herself with various jobs and wrote and releasedher firstoriginal songs under her stage name,Violent Vira. Her hard work on her own music paid off in 2021 when her song“I Don’t Care”went viral and has generated over 110 million streams on Spotify to date. She kept that momentum going in 2022 with songs like“You Wanted More,” “God Complex,”and“Tarantula Girl.” Following additional singles,Violent Virareleased“Collar of Truth”and“You’re Not Gone, You’re Just Dead!” onher 2023 EP“Till’ Death Was Never Enough.”After moving to Texas, she signed with MOM+Pop and followed up with her label debut, “Saccharine,”in 2025. The song served as the first single from her debut album“Lover Of A Ghost,” which expands onViolent Vira’satmospheric soundwithtracks like“Burn Me With A Bible,”“Missing Posters,” and“S.E.X. Narcissist.”In May,Violent Virareleasedherlatest single,“False Reaction,” which once again showcases her shoegaze-infused sound that blends atmospheric alternative metal with modern metalcore. The song is part of the deluxe edition of their debut album, which also features alternate versions of some of the tracks from the debut.
