Valeska-Gert-Gastprofessur 2026: Eszter Salamon

The choreographer, artist and performer Eszter Salamon holds the Valeska Gert Guest Professorship for Dance and Performance in the summer semester 2026. Salamon uses choreography as an activating and organizing force between different media such as image, sound, music, text, voice, body movement and actions. Her works evolve through different formats and aesthetics, methodologies and poetics and make use of a broad spectrum of forms of expression.

Eszter Salamon lives and works in Berlin, Paris and Budapest. She is the winner of the Evens Arts Prize 2019 and winner of the project call "La vie bonne" of the Center national des arts plastiques and AWARE: Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions in 2020.

Valeska Gert Visiting Professorship

For one semester at a time, the Akademie der Künste, Freie Universität Berlin and the Berlin Artists-in-Residence Program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) invite students of the Master's program in Dance Studies at FU Berlin to work and research artistically and academically together with a guest professor. The seminar content will be presented to the public in a public lecture at the beginning and the results in a final presentation by the students at the end.
