It is the biggest scandal in music history and one of the most important works of modernism: "Le sacre du printemps" by Igor Stravinsky. The premiere in Paris in 1913 turned into a spectacular uproar when the audience went wild in the face of numerous dissonances and harsh rhythms. The ideal piece for Teodor Currentzis, who is celebrated worldwide for his often radical, yet always gripping interpretations. When he recorded the "Sacre" with his musicAeterna ensemble a few years ago, he was showered with praise. Now he is transferring this "breathless tension" (Spiegel Online) to his second ensemble, the Utopia Orchestra, and bringing Stravinsky's masterpiece to the stage in Hamburg.
