Shibari Life Drawing

Dear artists,

We cordially invite you to a special nude drawing session with a Shibari focus.

Shibari is a Japanese-inspired rope art in which the human body is staged through artistic bondage. The lines of the ropes enter into a dialog with posture, form and expression and create impressive compositions that find their place in performances as well as in photography and fine art.

For this session, two models will be placed in different poses by experienced riggers. We start with a series of short warm-up poses of about 90 seconds before moving on to longer poses of 10 to 20 minutes. This leaves room for quick sketches as well as more detailed work.

The choice of materials is completely up to you - please bring your own preferred drawing utensils. Drawing boards will be provided on site.

The session is aimed at artists of all levels of experience and styles. The focus is on the joy of drawing, observation and the creative exploration of form, body and rope. We create a relaxed, appreciative environment without pressure to perform, criticism or competition - a space for concentrated work, inspiration and artistic exchange.
