After a disturbing incident during a family vacation, Anna (35) returns home with a feeling that won't let her go. In the days that follow, she tries to sort out what she experienced, but individual details cannot simply be shaken off. Finally, when she can no longer remain silent, she confronts her mother and sister directly with the shocking events that she believes she has witnessed or understood.

However, her mother and sister react with fierce defensiveness. They deny everything, play down Anna's perceptions and try to portray the situation as a misunderstanding.
