In postwar France, Reda Kateb plays Jan Bojarski, a Polish refugee who becomes the most brilliant counterfeiter of his era. In his backyard, he produces nearly perfect banknotes over the course of more than a decade and a half—so convincing that even the Banque de France cannot distinguish them from the originals. But the flood of counterfeit money brings Inspector Mattei onto the scene, whose relentless pursuit of the unknown master counterfeiter escalates into a nerve-wracking game of cat and mouse, in which Bojarski takes ever-greater risks—until his entire existence is on the line.
