This year's summer concert by the Münster University of Music's symphony orchestra will take place for the first time in the theater's main auditorium - under the direction of the General Music Director of the City of Münster, Golo Berg, and with the participation of members of the Münster student orchestra. The brilliant main work of the evening is Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps with a large orchestra.

The contrasting program opens with Johannes Brahms' lively Hungarian Dances Nos. 1, 3 and 5, followed by Franz Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E flat major, performed by the award-winning soloist Kang Tae Kim. After an intermission, the large orchestra will finally begin Le Sacre du Printemps, which caused a scandal at its premiere in 1913 and is now considered a milestone of modernism.
