Open Air: Best Of Erotik Slam

Event Info

For several years now, Sprechstation, in cooperation with Wortlust, has been transforming the Stuttgart nightclub “Climax Institutes” into a temple of sensual literature every two months—at the Stuttgart Erotic Slam. This is the most successful event series in Stuttgart’s poetry slam scene; the club shows are always sold out two to three months in advance.

As in previous years, we’ll be presenting a grand “Best Of” edition of our wild ride through the erotic performing arts as an open-air event on the Mercedes-Benz Museum’s outdoor stage as part of the Stadtkultur festival —with nearly 700 audience members, likely the largest stage show featuring erotic texts in the country.

The Stuttgart Erotic Slam

At the Stuttgart Erotic Slam, poets—both men and women—as well as those who revel in pleasure and those who suffer, present works that are gentle, hard-hitting, raunchy, or simply beautiful. To that end, we invite the best slam poets from across Germany to the state capital to enchant you with their texts in lovingly decorated venues (for example, every two months at Club Climax Institutes)—or, this time, under the open sky.  

There are no stylistic guidelines or limits—as long as the texts revolve around love, sex, and desire. Otherwise, the usual poetry slam rules apply—except that the costume ban has been lifted—so the poets can also vie for your votes through their outfits and clothing (or the lack thereof). For the Best of Erotik Slam, we’re inviting the five best poets who have graced the stage at the Stuttgart Erotik Slam over the past 12 months.

Please be sure to purchase your advance tickets well in advance. Last year, the nearly 700 tickets were completely sold out about four weeks before the show.
