Möwe und Mozart

In the organizer's words:

A production by the TheaterClub of the Mainfranken Theater: Herbert is a master of grumbling. The former composer (the "Mozart") once sacrificed his career to advertising music and in return shut the world out of his life. Today, he spends his days in retirement between an old apartment and a park bench - bitter, cynical and determined to have his peace and quiet.

But he hasn't reckoned with Sofia. The fun-loving "seagull" is not deterred by Herbert's harsh defenses. With her boundless zest for life and philosophical depth, she throws his static everyday life into turmoil. What begins as a head-on clash between two world views develops into a turbulent journey out of emotional torpor.

However, there is more behind the quick-witted duel of biting humor and hushed tones: the more Sofia succeeds in cracking Herbert's shell, the clearer it becomes that there is also a secret waiting behind her cheerful façade.

With this play, Peter Limburg has created a philosophical and hilarious comedy about loneliness and hope in old age. A moving plea for the courage to overcome inner barriers and the realization that it is never too late for a new beginning.
