A production of the TheaterClub of the Mainfranken Theater, play by Coline Serreau.
The Hases are a perfectly normal French family. But only at first glance. Because in this entertaining comedy, nobody is really who they seem to be. And so Mama Hare has her hands full trying to save the family from total ruin. When a brutal state power tries to restore order in the country, the family situation finally spirals completely out of control ...
To avoid any misinterpretation of the title: This is not a play about animals. However, the fact that the title character, Hase Hase, is an alien who has mysteriously landed in the Hase family doesn't make things any clearer.
In fact, the overall situation is confusing: who is actually who in this family? What are the truths and intentions of the individual family members? The inscrutable social developments all around do the rest, dangerously shaking the house of cards of family relationships that was thought to be safe. Mrs. Hase stands as a bulwark in the surf of events to prevent everything from collapsing.
What begins as a quirky family idyll ends in a firework display of the absurd. Coline Serreau writes a black comedy with wit, comedy and slapstick that, despite all the ominous and exhausting entanglements, is one thing above all: a celebration of family life!
