Matinee: ROSE (OmU)
In the organizer's words:
As always, once a month we’ll brighten up your Sunday afternoon with the best of both worlds: At the Moabiter Matinee, all fans of early-morning movie screenings can enjoy a film highlight, along with freshly brewed coffee and the neighborhood’s most delicious cinnamon rolls from Café Zazza.
Also from the Berlinale Competition comes Sandra Hüller’s latest masterpiece: In the early 17th century, she arrives in a village and poses as a soldier. As a hardworking and God-fearing man, she becomes part of the community but must hide her true identity. Filmed in poetic black-and-white, this is the true and tangled story of a con artist who behaved like a man and deceived an entire village.
Gender-bending drama, Germany/Austria 2026, 94 min, original version with subtitles
