Clara Groppler presents her third show: “WIFE”

Maria isn’t a wife yet, but she’s already bought a wedding dress for the occasion anyway—and strictly speaking, Maria wasn’t a virgin in her first show, “JUNGFRAU,” and in her second show, “MEHRJUNGFRAU,” she wasn’t a “multiple virgin” either. Tradition dictates that titles and reality are free to contradict each other.

What’s clear, though, is that many of Maria’s friends are getting married—and naturally, she wonders whether she wants that for herself or if the concept of marriage is a bit outdated by now. Does she want to bring the state into the relationship, and what changes in the relationship when you’ve already been together for six years? Do you just end up having even less sex?

Of course, it’s not just about marriage. The show’s themes are as varied as a buffet where no one knows what’s coming next, but everything’s a hit. Maybe you’ll stumble upon something, but that’s exactly what Maria wants: to push boundaries and tackle taboo topics. It gets feminist at times, embarrassing at others, and her own shortcomings get plenty of attention, too. All in Maria’s typical style: dry, crude, shameless, sometimes delightfully silly, and above all: funny.
