Marenera bringt die Energie und Ausdruckskraft der süditalienischen Volksmusik auf die Bühne. Das Ensemble widmet sich einer lebendigen musikalischen Tradition, die eng mit Tanz,Ritual und festlichen Anlässen verbunden ist. Sie entfaltet sich im Konzert- und Festivalrahmen ebenso wie bei privaten und öffentlichen Feiern, auch bei Hochzeiten, und lädt zum Tanzen ein.

Unser Repertoire umfasst traditionelle Tänze und Lieder aus verschiedenen Regionen Italiens, mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Süditalien. Es reicht von Pizziche aus Apulien über Tammurriate aus Kampanien bis hin zu verschiedenen Formen der Tarantella aus Süditalien und Sizilien. Neben instrumentalen Tänzen erklingen auch Stornelli – überlieferte Liebes- und Arbeitslieder, die bis heute mündlich weitergegeben werden. Ergänzt wird das Programm durch Saltarelli, Walzer sowie weitere traditionelle Gesänge aus unterschiedlichen Regionen Italiens. Die Zusammensetzung der Stücke wird je nach Anlass, Besetzung und Rahmen flexibel gestaltet.

Marenera brings the energy and expressive power of southern Italian folk music to the stage. The ensemble is devoted to a living musical tradition closely tied to dance, ritual, and festive occasions. It unfolds equally at concerts and festivals and at private and public celebrations, including weddings, and invites the audience to dance.

The repertoire spans traditional dances and songs from various regions of Italy, with a focus on the south — from the pizziche of Apulia and the tammurriate of Campania to the many forms of tarantella from southern Italy and Sicily. Alongside instrumental dances, the program features stornelli — traditional love and work songs still passed down orally — as well as saltarelli, waltzes, and other traditional songs from across Italy. The selection of pieces is shaped flexibly to suit the occasion, the lineup, and the setting.
