Lyrik Übersetzen ~ Verlegen ~ Schreiben
In the organizer's words:
Conversation and Reading with Martina Lisa
We cordially invite you to the second discussion in our event series! We’d like to take you behind the scenes of how poetry collections come to be: poets who translate and publish poetry will talk about their work during our readings. What challenges does translating poetry from different languages present? How can writing and translating enrich each other? What role does poetry play in the 21st century? And how does it even reach its readers? …
Here’s how: Come by, listen, and ask questions!
Admission by donation.
(Organized by: Max Walther & Tünde Malomvölgyi)
We’re very much looking forward to our guest:
Martina Lisa lives in Leipzig as a freelance translator, author, and cultural mediator. She translates Czech and Slovak literature into German, reads, writes, publishes books, and enjoys bringing both her own and others’ texts to the stage in various formats. Her most recent book, *Tage zählen*, was published by Trottoir Noir in 2022. She is a member of the hochroth Leipzig publishing collective, the VdÜ, and the Netzwerk Lyrik.
Tünde Malomvölgyi (moderator) reads, translates, discusses, and loves books; she is part of OrinocoBooks, where she organizes readings and all kinds of events and leads a book club focused on literature from Central and Southeastern Europe.
This project is funded by the City of Leipzig’s district budget, the City of Leipzig’s Office of Culture, and the Leipzig Foundation.
