KASALLA - THE PARK

The ideas that two guys come up with at 2 a.m. after a long party, sitting at a
kitchen table aren’t always that great. But what former “Peilomat” guitarist and songwriter
Flo Peil and singer Bastian Campmann came up with, something came of it: Kasalla.
Together with old and new bandmates Ena Schwiers, Sebi Wagner, and Nils Plum,
, they jumped into the rehearsal room with the plan to combine the music they love with lyrics in their local dialect
. Now, 10 years later, that crazy idea has really come of age
.
Not least thanks to the chart success of their 2017 album “Mer sin eins.” The
band’s fourth studio album shot straight from 0 to No. 5 on the German album charts
, giving the band not only the first Top Ten placement of their career but
but also the highest chart entry to date for a Cologne-based band since BAP in 1981. The
Cologne-based band’s success story was crowned in 2018 by another major highlight, as they
were nominated for the German ECHO Music Award.
A story that—especially in a city like Cologne—still seems almost too good to be true and is unfolding at breakneck speed
. After all, there by the river and the cathedral, the music scene is very intense, diverse, and concentrated.
