Let's not kid ourselves: Cabaret is more important than ever these days. The perceived density of assholes and concentration of idiots, the overabundance of sack-faces and the infestation of turds, the general, pumice-stone general stupidity and prescient general dullness, in short: the cerebral putrefaction in this country has, subjectively felt, always been high, but now this dismal fact can no longer only be proven in experiments, but has palpably arrived in the open for all of us who have a developed humanoid sensorium, spirit, wit, intellect and taste. And it is there in the wild that Jochen Malmsheimer is camping, ready to stand in the way of this almost encephalic nonsense, girded with the sword of poetry, clad in the long underpants of comforting mother wit and continuing to dispense with all pantomime.

Jochen Malmsheimer, born in Essen in 1961, is a multiple award-winning cabaret artist (including the German Cabaret Prize and the German Cabaret Prize). In numerous stage programs, he has created his very own art form: epic cabaret. He became known to a wider audience primarily through his appearances on "Neues aus der Anstalt" (ZDF).
