It’s neither a trip to the golf club nor a Caribbean cruise. Not a ski vacation in the Alps, nor top finishes in the water polo finals. No, Dan Peter Sundland’s *Idea of a Good Time* is an ecstatic collaboration between three powerful, distinctive saxophonists, each with their own distinct styles of expression, performing Sundland’s colorful compositions and accompanied by the inventive, groove-driven rhythms of a rhythm section that is redefining the genre.

The saxophones are masterfully played by:

Michaël Attias, known for his collaborations with all the greats of the New York scene—from Paul Motian to Anthony Braxton—and beyond as a superb bandleader and composer.

Camila Nebbia is a rising star in the improvisation and free jazz scene. She has played with greats such as Michael Formanek, Angelica Sanchez, Tom Rainey, and Susana Santos Silva. A powerful voice that is not to be taken lightly.

Johannes Schleiermacher, known for projects such as Training and Shake Stew, adds a third dimension to the mix with his expressive tenor saxophone and bridges the gap to the rhythm section with groovy baritone lines.

The whole ensemble is driven by this creative rhythm section:

Dan Peter Sundland contributes his unmistakable style on the electric bass and provides the group with his varied compositions. He lends his distinctive voice to collaborations with artists such as Jim Black, Frank Gratkowski, Liz Kosack, and Chris Pitsiokos.

Moritz Baumgärtner is a well-known figure on the European jazz scene, with long-standing projects such as Melt Trio and TAU, which are driven by his inventive timbres and keen ear.
